Applying for Probate in Ireland
Erin International has recently launched a new series of probate applications masterclasses for solicitors and legal executives across Ireland.
Following on from the success of its 2023 series on probate applications, the 2024 series focusses on intestate matters and the process involved when applying for probate where no valid will of a Deceased person exists.
Hosted by Erin International CEO Padraic Grennan and delivered by Erin International Probate Consultant Caroline McCall, these classes are a must-attend for probate practitioners nationwide. The sessions have been devised based on Caroline’s extensive experience, having worked in the Seat and High Court Probate Office for over 20 years, where during that time she was responsible for reviewing applications for grants of representation.
The rejection rate of first time probate applications remains in the region of 70%, while the rate of rejection for De Bonis Non applications sits at 99%. With waiting times now at 20 weeks, the rejection of applications can cause unnecessary delays and frustration to practitioners and their clients alike.
It was in response to these issues that Erin International launched its Probate Pre-Check Service in October 2022. Headed by Caroline McCall, the service is proving hugely popular among probate practitioners and gives a quick turnaround option for practitioners who need guidance prior to submission to the Probate Office.
